The World Bank will provide the Registrar General of India (RGI) with the tools necessary to make Census data easy to access.

Our grant to The World Bank will build the capacity of the ORGI to enhance the timeliness and dissemination of census results and, thereby, facilitate access to and use of the data.

The technical assistance provided by World Bank to the ORGI will include support on modern data dissemination technologies to efficiently store and combine data across tables and to allow easy access for end-users to these tables; data visualization products to provide innovative and user-centric analysis of census data; data documentation to improve the discoverability and reproducibility of census data; and dissemination of all census related information through websites. The technical assistance will also provide training to build the capacity of the ORGI to produce the potential new data dissemination system.
