Terra Economics and Analytics Lab (TEAL) is trying to make property information easily accessible and standardised for lending institutions and individual buyers and sellers. It is working on solving the information asymmetry problem in land and housing using big data and machine learning.
TEAL's core product is a digital platform to conduct property due diligence in real-time for banks, housing finance companies, and individual buyers and sellers. They collate land and property-related records from more than 900 different government agencies, courts, tribunals, and other relevant sources, clean, translate, and link this data using their proprietary AI/ML algorithms, and make them searchable and accessible in real-time.

By creating a single searchable repository for lenders, buyers, and insurers, TEAL makes the process of property acquisition and mortgages easier and cheaper and improves access to housing finance, especially for those seeking to own affordable housing. By building a comprehensive digital data platform for land and property records, TEAL is creating critical sector infrastructure to improve transparency and trust in real estate markets in India.
