eGovernments Foundation uses technology to transform urban governance. It has developed an open-source tech platform that enables efficient and effective municipal operations, better decision making, enhanced accountability and transparency, and in-turn improve urban service delivery.

eGovernments Foundation builds and deploys DIGIT, an urban governance focused tech stack, in urban local bodies across India. The platform helps digitize processes and increase the efficiency of service delivery. It focuses on services that account for 90 per cent of citizen transactions and 80 per cent of revenues of cities.  DIGIT comes with ready-to-deploy modules across both citizen services (e.g. grievance redressal, building plan approval, water and sewage connections etc.) and administration (e.g. employee management, payroll processing, finance and accounting, property taxes etc.).

To scale the platform, the organization uses a mix of top-down policy change at the central level (to generate demand for the platform) with on-ground implementation and capacity building support at the state and local level (to drive adoption and use of the platform).
